As someone who has always been drawn to artistic expression, painting has been a particularly meaningful outlet for me. It was the discovery of abstract designs that really ignited my passion for the craft. The freedom to create something that was truly my own was a powerful experience.
During quarantine I taught myself printmaking through carving linoleum blocks. I ventured into a project about plastic pollution, carving multiple tiles about dead fish, plastic bottles, and littering signs. I used these blocks to print on a few shirts, pants, and bandanas. This project was incredibly rewarding as I am passionate about the environment, and art, so fusing them together was the perfect way to venture into a new medium.
